An update to Font Directory Pro is now available from Elesar Ltd.
The software, originally developed by LOOKsystems, was added to the Elesar catalogue in 2017, with sales and further development handled by Rob Sprowson’s company. It provides a system to make a large font collection more manageable, and is actually a suite of applications that fit neatly together to perform different aspects of that task, such as controlling which fonts are ‘seen’ by the operating system, with the ability to enable and disable individual fonts dynamically.
The headline change in the update to version 3.24 is that the font partition no longer has to be hosted on a FileCore filing system, and instead any local filing system with read/write access can be used. This means it can be used on a HostFS filing system, for example, which is commonly used on emulated platforms such as RPCEmu.
In addition, there have also been a couple of minor bug fixes, along with some optimisations made to the various applications that make up the suite.
Upgrading to version 3.24 is so easy that existing Elesar customers of the software should by now have received an email with the new version attached, so it’s just a matter of following the provided instructions!

The software costs £45 (including VAT) for new users or, if you have any version from LOOKsystems (i.e. earlier than 3.20, the first version released by Elesar), you can get that discounted by 25%.
